Our purpose is to engage one another in reflecting on the meaning and implications of a paradigm shift in how we relate to the wind of God as he blows on his church to extend his kingdom. Bruce J Snider
I found this website by searching up Christian Sailing Clubs on Google. A bried introduction: My name is Bruce J Snider from Houston, Texas. I grew up sailing small boats as a young fellow and commissioned a newly completed custom 20′ wooden gaff sail sloop designed by Stevenson Projects – The Weekender. I have no idea if the “calling” to be near the (salt) water is natural (most probably) – but something does happen “inside” – a healing of sorts or reconnection or time to unwind…whatever the case may be – I need a break from the stress and strains of work and home that even “hiding in the secret place” does not satisfy.
In short – I grew up in a disfunctional reform Jewish family and converted to Christianity May 12, 1987. Within less than a year – I had a “calling” to minister to the Chinese communiites locally as well as abroad – that I did for over 25 years. I know the grace of God kept me there and I was in His will – but then there was a time when I was not concious of that grace – and withdrew.
I am an award winning artist and jewelry designer – working with my hands and tending to my own business. You may reach me through my website: http://www.designsingems.com
The sailboat I have is a bit large to sail alone and I am looking to meet seasoned sailing persons of like interest.
